What size art should hang above a sofa?
The right answer depends on the wall and the work, but a measured shortlist is far more reliable than guessing from a product image.
Measure before browsing
Record the sofa width and the clear wall height above it. As a starting point, many rooms feel balanced when the artwork or grouped arrangement occupies roughly half to two-thirds of the sofa width.
Allow breathing room
Leave visible space between the sofa and artwork and around the frame. A small work can succeed when it is intentionally placed rather than floating in a large empty area.
Confirm framed dimensions
The listed artwork size may exclude a frame. Ask the artist for the final outer dimensions and hanging advice before fixing anything to the wall.
